In all the years I have driven across the borders I only had one issue , that was at the Cornwall Ontario crossing in 1970.
No biggy, they just went through the car checking for stuff, then we were on our way. Had several friends turned back for various old infrations when flying to Vegas , everything from DUI's to being fingerprinted but never charged after being involved in illegal activities .
