Started with a light load yesterday. 350 grains 1600s, and I think you ladies could shoot it all day. Fill seems like a 30-06. Not some boogey man.
Reading loads in couple of manuals, and they talk about the renaissance the 45-70 has had. A few threads on here about 1895. I am sure people use 223, but in my part of the country, I don't know a single person below 6mm, and # of people using 45-70.

There are a bunch splats on the ram from 45/70 Sharps, aperture sights at 400 yards. Mild load of 5744. It ain't a googled image.
