Most common question for 223, would be is it big enough and is it legal. The former you are probably used to asking. Most people would consider it marginal, not for an adult, and most be selective with shot. I don't know why you don't like chuck hawks, other than he doesn't agree with you. But that is a long list. When talking deer cartidges, 223 doesn't even get brought up unless someone's like ar15s. Ar10 would be better, but they probably don't know what it is.
