Grew up in the Big Empty of Crook County. Ran trap lines, Gov't coyote hunter (back when there was such a thing), guided Mulie hunters (partly to keep 'em from shooting our Appaloosa's), and ran packlines to the sheep herders in the high meadows.
Then the `gubment came calling saying I'd won an all expenses paid trip to SEA. Liked it so much I stayed for a 2nd tour.
After that, just not the same no more. Haven't been back.
