For you fellers using the 69 or 77 grain tipped bullets are you killing mature deer at ranges of under 50-75 yards?
I haven’t shot any deer that close. But I have shot some pretty big pigs at that range and much closer, some under 10 yards. They’re devastating though penetration does suffer some.
I’m using them in an 18” 223 which keeps the speeds down and probably helps with consistent performance. A buddy tried them in his 22 Creed and wasn’t impressed. He said they seemed very soft. I guess at 3500fps or however fast a Creed will run a 77 everything but a mono probably is pretty soft.
