This thread motivated me to use my .223 on deer this year for the first time. That, and the bone spurs growing around the cadaver transplant, plate and screws in my shooting shoulder (old guys shouldn't play softball on potholed, hard-packed rodeo grounds). One shot, one kill on two NE does with, frankly, suboptimal shot placement both times (one 200+ yards away, one at point blank range). I used the Winchester Razorback XT 64 grain copper solid hollow point factory load and can't complain.
