I don't like shooting rifles with barrels shorter than 21-22" without hearing protection. An 18" barreled rifle is a real nuisance on the ears. The weight forwards swings and points a little better too. I have never cut a Creed off to test but I have cut a 6.5-284 down. It lost between 20-24 fps/ inch.
