i have use plenty different cartridges and rifles ,finally for the the last some 20 years a custom Ruger # 1 chambered in a 257 Weatherby mag. its fast and knocks good bucks down fast too with my hand loads 100 grain bullet at 3800 FPS.
WOW!! I'm embarrassed to say what speed I'm getting out of my 25-06 shooting 100gr Hornady.
I too have a few choices for caliber's.. I'd even use you my 22-250 loaded with a 55 grain Barnes on our little Couse WT.
