I love my 270, my main deer rifle. A true deer killing classic and simply works, at any distance. Lately I like the even lighter recoiling rifles. 223, 76239, 6.5 CM. Terrain pending, I would not hesitate to use any of them

All of them do something better than the 30-06, but none of them do everything as well.
