Even without the guys in the wrong lane, haven’t you yourself stated it’s safest for the cyclist to “claim the lane” ie. ride in the traffic lane?
Not sure what that has to do with my comments. Cyclists are more visible when they are out in the lane, less likely to be brush passed and more likely to be perceived as and treated as traffic. That's why my default position is out in the lane. I move right as circumstances warrant.
