Of course you can build a decent rifle for under a grand..........I remember when you did that one..............but the Cowboy explicitly said a "primo" version build.

And though your is a good function & accurate rifle (at least based on what you've said, it not in the "primo" class as I interpret that term.

A "primo" rifle would include the following (or other similar brands / prices & as you shall see below will be well over a grand.........& there are lot of part even more "primo" than what I've used.

Current retail prices & this is w/o things like extended mag release, upgraded ambi-safety, upgraded bolt release

SanTan Upper & Lower.....................$430
Craddock Bartlien Barre...................$550
SLR Ion Lite HG..............................$295
RBC Nitrided BCG............................$189
Geiselle SSA-E Trigger......................$240
SLR AGB & tube..............................$125
Fossa Flash Hider............................$100
Geiselle LPK...................................$105
Geiselle CH....................................$105
Stock, Buffer Tube, Buffer, Spring.....$165

This total is $2,304

Lets say we get various discounts at 20%, so that brings it to $1,850ish.

And yes, some of the parts can be changed & save some money & still have a "primo" rifle............like maybe a WOA barrel for $300 or so, a cheaper upper & lower, etc. But a WOA barrel, much as I like them, is not a Bartlien. That's why WOA also charges more for a Bartlien.

But the point is, you really can't do a "primo" build for a grand..........a good build, maybe even a very good build, but not a "primo" build. (Which WY Arms is purporting to me.........got no skin in the game, don't have one, never seen one.............just pointing out the cost of top shelf parts.)

But even backing the upper down to a modest BCM built upper, with a non-stainless barrel & a phis coated BCG, you are already into $1,000+

YMMV, especially in your definition of a "primo" rifle, but please, don't piss down my neck & tell me it's rainin'.
