I took advice from JB (thanks very much!) and worked up to maximum velocity using 7-08 data. This worked very well indeed and produced some excellent loads.
145 LRX - 51.0 gn StaBALL 6.5 - 2938 fps
150 Nosler BT - 49.0 gn 4451 - 2754 fps
150 Nosler BT - 54.0 gn Reloder 26 - 2870 fps

All loads used Hornady brass, 210 primers and were fired from a 22" barreled Model 70 of 2014 vintage.
All loads produced groups of 0.8" at 100 yd.

These are not starting loads. Maximum velocity published data should be approached only with the aid of a chronograph since throat dimensions, and corresponding pressures, vary greatly in individual rifles.

The above loads are save in my rifle. If you assume they will be fine in yours without carefully working up you are nuts!

Cheers,
Walt
