I have an 83 year old mauser custom made 98 with half octagon half round 26 inch barrel. Before I started reloading I bought some 175 grain Remington corelocs , 139 grain privilege partisan, and 140 grain Sellier & Bellot. The 175 grain shot solid 2" groups with open sights The 139 grain Privilege about the same but 3inches to the right. The S&B shot 1 1/4" group 2" above the 175 grain loan. That was better than I expected with my old eyes and open sights. I took a whitetail with the S&B round nose load through the heart at 40 yards. Complete pass through that completely destroyed the heart. Now my go to load. This was my first time using S&B ammo but it won't be my last.
