Can any African Medics or any MDs chime in here...in the US with on or two exceptions, our venomous snakes are hemotoxic, and our protocals are a loose dressing and transport...then antivenom as needed. I'm not a doctor but in Africa, we have three treatments.

tightish bandage from the site of the wound to the trunk and back to the extremity of the limb and try to get the patient to hospital.

OR

Electric shock.

OR

Sit the patient up, put his head between his legs and tell him to kiss his arse, or if he's American, his ass, goodbye. smile
