I disagree. He was probably "notified" of the party via a dispatcher because it got loud or pissed off a neighbor who called it in. Your wife just happened to fall into the trap that was set when the neighbor called. You were right to have her give the test and ask for a blood test. Arranging for the test and setting it up is time consuming and her BAC would have gone down. A breath or urine test would have been done sooner and her BAC would have been higher. By Iowa Code we have to offer the breath test first. We only go after a blood test when we needed the evidence for a serious misdemeanor or above and the dependent was unconscious or probably needed an attorney for a Capitol offense. kwg
