An 870 Super mag firing a 3 1/2" turkey load. If that is what I need to kill a turkey with, I don't want to hunt turkey.

WAAAAAY back in 1976 I picked up one of the recently re-introduced Marlin 1895's used. This version was only made one year so not many have seen it. That version had a straight grip with the 22" barrel and 1/2 mag tube. The front sight was in a dovetail instead of a ramp and the buttplate was curved and made of hard plastic.

The guy I bought it from gave me a few 500 gr handloads. I was 19 and thought I was tough, but those loads, in that rifle, nearly made me cry.
