Bdl ss in 375 ultra with no scope got my attention. Maybe 7.5 pounds with full house hot loaded 300g A frames. Seriously wonder how many rounds before my retinas would detach. Fast sharp hard recoil. Made my 375 ruger seem easy.
As a kid it was a single shot H&R 12 gauge with no recoild pad and 3" lead 1&7/8th ounce Winchester super XX magnums. I got my first goose with that 5 pound single shot and 3" lead xx #2s. They were directly overhead and the recoil knocked me the rest of the way over but the bruises healed and the goose smoked up nice for Christmas.
My friend teased me about it until he borrowed the gun and it did the same to him. I'd convinced him the Active rounds would kick less than low brass because they were no brass. They were still 3" mag 1&7/8ths lead. He still acusses me of having reloaded it. In his mind the power is still always determined by brass lenght. Full length old brass cased rounds scared him to death.
