Kinda funny seeing guys that shoot thousands of rounds of centerfire a year and brag about same complaining that it takes 8-10 shots to sight in a Leupold. I've had no trouble with my Leupolds but then I don't give a rats ass about dialing or "banging steel" or shooting anything else at long range. There's no place to shoot that far around here. They hold zero and I kill enough to fill my freezers with venison every season and that's all that matters. You live here you learn to hunt. There's no making up for a lack of skills there by shooting stuff a half mile away.
You would recommend somebody use a scope that doesn't track? Have though, perhaps, the inability to track isn't only a zeroing issue, but a problem in field use when dialing, and for target shooting? People shouldn't be concerned about things you "don't give a rats ass about"? Hell, some might say you using a rifle and scope is trying to make up for lack of skills and you should use a bow.
I have used bows and crossbows successfully during those seasons..
