Time will tell if it's same-ol or not. Hard not to buy NF for that package & price so their gonna have a tough market nut to crack.

The big difference is that the Leupold is FFP which I don't believe one can acquire in any of the max 10X NF offerings.

I get that L is trying to meet a price-point, but, FFP and max 10x magnification seems like Illumination is almost a must unless you're never going to use it under 5/6X.

I like L's TMR reticle as I had a few swapped into scopes when their custom shop still did it. I greatly prefer it to a Windplex as the TMR is quite a bit finer. Though I'm referring to SFP TMR, I've never used or looked through an L w/FFP TMR so I could be way off base.

While I havent yet looked at one in this particular scope, in general Leupold does a nice job with the FFP TMR. The measuring portions of the windage crosswire is kept reasonable, as is drop compensation on the lower elevation wire; as such, on low X the heavier lines come close enough to center to give quick aim/bracketing points, making it very useful throughout the X range, even without illumination.
