Love the Shilen 260 AI. Curious as to why you went 9 twist? Just an after thought or?
Well for several reasons 1. I've heard of people having seating issues with the 260 AI and the really long bullets not being able to seat them at magazine length, I wanted a functional hunting rifle not a single shot.
2. I had originally planned on shooting the 120 gr BallisticTip.
3. My smith had a 1-9 twist that a customer had ordered and changed his mind to a 1-8 twist, so he knocked off a 100 stones to get me to buy it
I love the setup, shoots like a dream and I've taken several deer and antelope with it and a couple elk(1 @ 605yds) and it's all been DRT type of harvests.
Them's is more than enough reasons to go 9T good sir
My Model 7 .260 irked me similarly, in that 123 SMKs were useless in it, unless I wanted to gun it like an HR Hand I rifle
