People who have nice road bicycles also drive cars, and they pay the same tax at the pump to keep up the roads as you do. The same.
The tax at the pump covers the motorized vehicle that the fuel goes in... not a wheel.
Our roads have no fog line for peddlers to ride... you are by god on the road or off the road. Here, roads are for cars and trucks. Children on wheels get my respect.. it's their only means of transportation.. them and drunks. Responsible adults need find a better place to recreate.
Also, pedestrians and wheel riders do not have the right of way on a public highway. One best "look both ways". It's a damn fine way to meet your maker to believe that bullshit.
