So, it's not "illegal" for bicyclists to use the road where you are. That's all you had to say...that it's not "illegal". Incidentally, other taxes besides just the ones we pay at the pump also go to pay for and maintain the roadways.
Yep, ridin' on the roadside is often dangerous, and it's a risk many of us choose to take anyway. When I take a bicycle ride of over a hundred miles in 6 or 7 hours it's hard to do it without riding on the side of the road...the ones that I help pay for and maintain.
