I had a Kimber MIM magazine catch crumble into dust while firing my .45 one day. I do think Kimber has had some bad runs of various MIM parts over the years. IIRC Kimber had some thumb safety and grip safety MIM failures. Didn't Colt try MIM 1911 extractors once? That was a fail also. I definitely wouldn't want an MIM firing pin.
