Trump may have lost the battle but he will get the last laugh. If he goes with the nuclear option (Emergency Crisis option), and wins in the courts and they label this as a invasion to our country this Congress is totally screwed. States will sue the feds right and left over their failures surrounding illegal immigration.
The last time a state tried to sue the feds over illegal immigration, it was thrown out of court because they ruled it was not an invasion of the country. 1000's of people in caravans coming at our border looks like an invasion to me, the states may fare better this time considering the make up of the Supreme Court....
