You do know that “Texas border fence” is not on the border, don’t you? The land between that fence and the center of the River has been ceded to Mexico once the fence is completed.So....the Government bought that land from American citizens and gave it to Mexico.
Just because the fence isn't on the property line doesn't mean you have ceded that property to the neighbor. Sometimes it is good to have access to both sides of a structure which couldn't necessarily be done if workers had to stand in Mexico to do it. When I couldn't get my neighbor to cost share on a line fence I pulled off line 21 feet and built a fence, then I planted trees on my 21 feet and requested that his cows not graze my little trees. But getting back to the subject, we could hardly build a barrier down the middle of the river.
