What if precedent gets set this year that allows the next time we have a D president they declare the wide circulation of firearms in the civilian population of the U.S. a "National Emergency" based upon ~10K homicide deaths annually?
It might be valuable to consider and conjecture a few steps ahead....
I think they call that political suicide....A lot of Dems own guns too...
Trump is fighting a battle over a wall that a lot of Dems have agreed to in the recent past. They are just posturing at the moment because they dont wont to give him a big win, but when it comes down to it, they know border security is a huge issue in this country that is not going to go away anytime soon. At least most of them know it, I think.
If the Republicans agree to give the DACA kids amnesty, the Dems are going to be put in a real tough position themselves to downvote Trumps wall or barrier or whatever they call it. How can they go to their base and explain why they downvoted amnesty for those kids over a wall that is needed when they have been fighting for amnesty for them for years? Especially when Trump has made concessions and doesn't even want the big, shiny concrete sea to sea wall anymore...
