AGREED 100%. = My favorite is young swamp rabbits, that are VERY NUMEROUS in my home area up in NE Texas. = For example, my 1st cousin & I took 56 of them in one late fall evening with a .22LR & my .410 pump, some years ago on the family farm.

My uncle was cutting them up, dredging them in flavored flour, pan frying them, making "scratch" biscuits & white/cream gravy for supper, as soon as we had dressed a dish-pan full.
(All 2 of us, plus a of neighbors, who just "dropped in" & helped themselves, made PIGS of ourselves that night. = A good time was had by all.) .
