Try to convince someone that wants to believe the White man shot them all. As if a relatively few white folks could wipe out millions of bison that were increasing their numbers by 25% or more every year. Tick fever introduced by Texas and Mexican cattle did it.

Cattle disease was a factor as was the Indian wars, but in the large number killed by hunting. the hides were used to make the massive number of cheap leather machine belts which allowed the USA to lead the world in the advance of the Industrial Revolution.
