God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah because of the homosexual behavior and other forms of devious sexual immorality that was going on there. He does not approve or tolerate such things, and if a person participates in such, they are going against the word of God, and setting themselves up for the wrath of God.
While the old saying about hating the sin, but loving the sinner has a lot of merit, the fact is that God gives us a choice and if we don't make the right choice, we will surely pay the price. Those homosexuals paid the ultimate price for their behavior.
