Actually our Lord has taken upon Himself the dirt, of which we have much.
To be a hypocrite is a shame; to rid oneself of the possibility of hypocrisy by setting aside any objective standard and/or personal standard bearer? I’d submit that that is self-justifyingly cynical and deserving of equal condemnation.
I seek to obtain a standard I know I am incapable and therefore I will, to my condemnation, be found to have behaved hypocritically. Praise God for a Savior who takes upon Himself my hypocrisy!
