I had a top strap fail on my Kimber MT 325 WSM. The scope was a moderate weight Loopy VX3i 3-9X40, not heavy. I have gone back to my older Weaver rings, the ones with the big knobs and are US made. I have never had a failure with the Weavers, and that goes back to 1959.

At best I was lukewarm about the Talley LW mounts, and now I won't use them. I scrounge up the older Weavers when opportunity arises. They're good for inventing new cuss words when trying to square up the crosshairs, but once mounted right they work, and they work well as QD mounts.
