VaHunter, I just chuck common flat blade headed base screws in my drill press and file the heads down even with the shank. I thread them into the receiver, slip the Talleys over them onto the receiver, then attach the virgin lapping bar to the rings. I then slip the ring/bar assembly back off and clean everything good with brake cleaner, then wax the headless screws and thread them in, apply epoxy to the bases of the Talleys, slip the assembly back onto the receiver over the headless screws and use loops of surgical tubing to hold it against the receiver and clean up excess epoxy with Q-tips The next day, I remove the lapping bar and headless screws, clean the holes and base screws with brake cleaner, apply blue loc-tite and torque screws down.
