The worst part is that I had convinced a cow elk at 5 yards that I was not a threat, and the bull trailed her to the same point. The guy who was calling 50 yards behind me said it looked like I had kicked it in the balls, and that was my assessment as well. But, we followed the blood trail a long way before it petered out.
