And yet both of you have the gift of eternal life and will live together in Heaven because you both believe in Christ as savior.
Will this cease in Heaven?
It will cease this side of Heaven if works is part of the equation.
"Works"
is part of the equation. But only for those who believe God's Word. Following we see obedience equals "works".
Philippians 2:12-13
"So then, my beloved, just as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your salvation with fear and trembling; for it is God who is at work in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure."
How does one show his love for the Lord?
1 John 5:2-3
"By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and observe His commandments. For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments; and His commandments are not burdensome."
