So let me get this straight. Lefties think Trump manipulated this virus personally and had his operatives release this on Wuhan and paid the Chicoms not to act until it spread to every county in the world. No one else is to blame. All other countries that allowed the virus in are without fault. Only Trump is bad. Bad, bad, bad!😡
Trump was briefed on Jan 23 and 28 about the looming crisis. And was told it was a deadly serious matter!! He closed down air travel on Jan 31 to China and Europe.
Then he told a writer, on Feb 7 on phone, while being recorded, that he knew this was a deadly, airborne disease, which was believed to be at least 5 times more deadly then the most strenuous flu the US experiences each year.
Trump has said publicly several times that the flu kills 25-65.000 Americans each year. So, he privately believed it could kill 75 - 325.000 Americans.. and most likely much much more in early January!!!
He downplayed it for nearly 6 weeks to the public, calling it a hoax on numerous occasions in fully packed rallies, a Democrat plot, that people should just look at it as a common flu, dont take any serious precautions etc etc etc...
It wasn't until March 16, he called for tougher measures.. which led to the entire US economy grinding to a halt as a result! And tens and tens of thousands of Americans dead as a result. And still ALOT his supporters dont even belive its a serious virus.. they are still calling it a hoax. Even on this forum!
Had he just kept to his guns that this is an serious matter and ALL Americans should take some precautions, in February when he told the writer, there wouldn't be Trump supporters still calling this a hoax and claiming only 9000 have died from it.
Other Asian countries that went straight to tough measures only resulted in minuscule deaths compared to US numbers. And they never shut down their economy...
