He used a debit card, and had the money in his account.
FWIW, he bought the firearms and other stuff legally, and of course passed the NICS background check. The ATF was at the FFL dealer for over 4 hours perusing everything related to the purchases and declared the dealer had followed the letter of the law in everything.
Gotta wonder what the dealer’s gut was telling him when he sold all that hardware to that creepy kid. I presume the dealer was a local and would be somewhat equipped to judge the character of other locals.

All he seen was benjamins from a large sale or sales. No matter if he had a feeling or not... Legal sale. CYA on him even if he mighta for a split second had a thought.
