JG: I already told you, the 30'06 doesn't offer anything that a 6, 6.5 or 7mm cannot do better. Educate yourself on wind drift and drop vs. ballistic coefficient and maybe you'll catch on. I don't have time to write a whole book.

To get an '06 to perform like a 6, 6.5 or 7, you need to shoot the heaviest of bullets and burn a lot more powder...which also adds recoil.

There is no logical, scientific reason the 30-06 is more popular than say a 280.
