Anybody (unless you're a woman or have an affliction) that even CONSIDERS recoil as an issue with the 06, well maybe ought to consider a side saddle next time he's up on a horse...
I feel the 7mm Remington mag brings more performance to the table for the same recoil. I'd also take a .264 Win mag over a .30-06. But I don't care if everybody buys an '06 for their kid. Its just not one of my personal favorites. I love the .270 though.
noted and agreed, except for the hunting he will be doing, the 06 is just versatile..in my opinion..and there is a difference between "shooting" and "hunting"...Again in my opinion..
