JMHO- I've sold most of my more expensive
stabby pokey JIC of crackhead knives
I went in favor of quantity, but really didn't
give up all the edge.
I have several on me now on either side JIC I
have the other hand occupied
Most of what I'll carry in the hood here are decent
sharp knives that can be "lost " down the street
gutter drain if required, and I won't need to return
to the scene of the loss for any reason, and won't
be out a month's pay to replace it. Also, sometimes
things like knives will fly out of your hand while
driving if you're not careful.
FWIW wally world has some locking blade folders
that aren't the prettiest things, but you can get
one pretty fairly sharp, and if it disappeared you
wouldn't have a hemorrhoid
Edit- I should add that I don't carry these out
and about in the sticks. I still have some better
quality knives I carry and use
