When I boil everything down, aside from some great pocket knives, I was gifted a Cutco hunting knife about 20 years ago by a friend.
At first I thought it would be like the Buck hunting knives, and wasn't really impressed.
Then I used it. Field dressed and cut up 2 elk with it, and it would still shave the hair off your arm.
I started to have more respect for it. I also found that I could easily put razor sharp edge on it. It holds the edge better than any knife I have ever known.
Now, after 20 years, it's still my go-to field dressing, skinning and processing knife.
Who knew?.... Now I do.
