Yes I pay out of pocket for all my health care, I dropped insurance 25 yrs ago. I even raised 2 step daughters and payed all dental and health care for them.
That being said I signed up for a Christian health care co-op about 5 years ago. It covers major hospitalization and my monthly contribution goes directly to participants in need, no middle man bureaucrat.
I am lucky as my health is great and I don't go to the doctor.... yet...
