Hey azzhole just keep in mind that a large number of people wouldn't have made it to the hospital to be treated or mistreated by the docs and hospital staff if it werent for the prehospital treatments and interventions by us "ambulance drivers". This goes for COVID and non Covid cases. Been an EMT over 20 years and most recently, until forced to quit over vaccine mandates, worked regular Part time weekend night shifts with a busy urban ambulance company. So busy in fact that ALS/Medics were stretched thin and we EMTs were often forced to treat/transport patients that should have been paramedic cases. Even with those conditions I couldnt count the number of times we have been told by ER docs etc that without our prehospital interventions the patient would have been DOA at the ER. This is backed up by a stack of commendation letters, CPR/AED "save" certificates, letters of thanks from patients/families etc in my employee file! In a rural place like Jim Conrad is at, BLS prehospital care is even more important due to increased transport times to a medical facility, delayed ALS/Paramedic response etc. And guess what..you need a level of medical skill/knowledge to effectively field diagnose/treat patients even on a basic life support level! But to you we're obviously just ambulance drivers!!!
