Ventilators didn't kill, COVID did. Being put on a vent meant you are going to die without one.
How many that were intubated died anyway? 80%?
I'm reading that it was something like 50-60%, average. Some places it was more like 40%, other places more like 80%. Native Americans and Mexican-Americans/Tejanos were at the top end of the spectrum, other racial groups were nearer the bottom end, due to unknown but presumed genetic factors. Also the overall health status of the population seems to be linked to mortality as well.
