I'm reading that it was something like 50-60%, average. Some places it was more like 40%, other places more like 80%. Native Americans and Mexican-Americans/Tejanos were at the top end of the spectrum, other racial groups were nearer the bottom end, due to unknown but presumed genetic factors. Also the overall health status of the population seems to be linked to mortality as well.


I’ve already mentioned my Tex-Mexican/Filipina Ex losing two Tejano cousins and almost a brother. Through a friend I learned of an Apache guy on the rez losing his wife and his mother. OTOH my Irish/German/Polish relatives Back East barely got sick or not at all, including my 88yo vaccinated Irish mom.
