It’s no wonder why the Republican Party is such an epic clusterfuck if the posters on here are any indication of what the composition of the party acts like. A conservative, gun owning doctor made a professional opinion based upon the available research at the time, from institutions he was taught to trust, which proved to be wrong (at a minimum) and he has since offered his public “apology”/explanation but that isn’t good enough for the cheap seats. Doc was lied to, we were lied to. Those that recognize that, admit that they were duped and vow not to repeat their “gullibility” are NOT who we should be mad at. I’ll NEVER FORIVE OR FORGET those that ARE responsible for the perpetuation of the bullshit or those that used the draconian rules for their own evil pettiness. There’s plenty of hate and anger but if it’s constantly misdirected it loses all of the significance of the issue….but beating on Doc Rocket who isn’t even here to “defend” himself is probably more gratifying than directing that righteous anger at the agencies that LIED TO HIM. Without question the AMA or even the NEJM are FAR more deserving of the righteous indignation displayed here and since they were up towards the top of the list of lying liars they’d be an appropriate place to begin….😉
There’s plenty of anger that the covid Karen’s deserve but Doc sure as hell ain’t one. There’s plenty of anger that the CDC, FDA, NIH, WHO, U.S. government, etc ad infinitum deserve but it’s easier to excoriate someone that already admitted they too were duped. People that are involved in science (ideally) follow the evidence and leave their emotions out of it. They rely on the accuracy of others’ research and data within their respective fields of study and those results are written about in peer reviewed journals…still (hopefully) emotionally neutral. When the data is manipulated by (previously) well respected institutions and government agencies then everything downstream is equally misled and lied to…..that’s not the fault of the doctor or “end user” of that information.
There’s plenty of justifiable anger that should forever be directed at those that manipulated the data, continued to push bullshit after the truth began to surface, the miserable ignorant Karen’s of the world that loved the power trip, the education system, the government, etc but continuing to flail on someone that admitted to believing the institutions that he was taught to trust….THEY LIED TO HIM AND TO US ALL!
