Since Russia's demonstrated they have no intention to play nice on the world stage, a weak Russia benefits the U.S. I don't really care who's weakening the Russians, Afghanistan, Chechen's. So long as the bleedings done by someone else, I'm happy to supply them the weapons...

Never woulda had you pegged as a globalist.

I'm not a globalist in the traditional pejorative manner in which you mean it. Let me remind you, I'm an economist, and to paraphrase Milton Freidman, No system has done more to raise the common man out of poverty than Capitalism coupled with mostly free and fair trade.

I understand simple economic principle such as specialization, division of labor, and Comparative Advantage, the ladder of which escapes most Fire Members. I suspect there's less than a handful who've even heard the name David Ricardo, let alone understand how he demonstrated the benefit of international trade, even when each country can produce both goods traded between them.

So, yes, I'm in favor of an orderly global marketplace because it benefits the U.S. consumer by raising our standard of living.

The more everyone plays nice, the more goods and services available to everyone, including you. War's destroy capital, so fewer wars means more capital stock to produce consumer goods.

Of course orderly global marketplaces don't just happen. They take leadership, and there's only one nations really capable of leading it, and one that I (mostly)trust to lead it, and that's us. So I'm in favor of a orderly global market place to the extent that it's lead by us, benefits us, and everyone else makes their reasonable contribution.

Concerning my views on Russia, I'm an old Cold War Warrior. I served my time in Japan due to it's proximity to the now Former Soviet Union. I was on the front line during it's dissolution and unlike most here I'm not under the illusion that Putin's some kind of benevolent benefactor of the right. He has more in common with Stalin than Trump, and is better at propaganda than either. To me, that's the greatest irony in all of this. All the Q supporters who've fallen for Putin's propaganda as well.

You didn't use logic or reason to get into this opinion, I cannot use logic or reason to get you out of it.
