My first year on the south Texas deer lease was the 2017 season. I tagged out

Spent most of the year in 2018 expecting to hunt there again in 2018, and doing the requisite work and hog thumping to have a good season.

The night before opening day of rifle season we were informed that 30,000 acres of this 60,000 acre low fenced ranch had been leased to a company that was to build a "wind farm" and we could shoot until December 1st, but it we killed a deer we got no refiund.

Supposedly this was to be an 11 month project, and once the project was started, entering the construction zone with a firearm was prohibited. Tuns out it lasted from December 2018 through June of 2020.

So, no deer have been taken off this ranch since January of 2018, which means that the deer that were three years old are now six years old, and so forth.

First time I've seen this guy. I'm gonna call him 'ol Big!
