BobinNH People lose animals with a 270 for the same reason they lose animals with any caliber.....they didn't hit them right.I have never seen this "rule" breached.....ever; with any cartridge,or bore diameter. Mule Deer What Bob is saying (and I am backing up) is that if you've had really miserable experiences on a handful of deer with the .270 the problem lies somewhere other than the cartridge and its bullets.
