Mr. Sam...might be a silly question, but is that pump hard to prime as far as it is from the water to the pump? Do you have a bypass from suction to the flow line on it to fill it with? Or do you have to haul water from river to fill it? I worked a number of years in the oilfield and used a number of different types of pumps and sometimes they could be a booger to prime. So, when I see something like that, I had to ask. It just looks like with the large of a suction and that long from pump to water it could be troublesome?




Ruger, it primes up on a 'vacuum' line from the top end of the suction to the exhaust. If you look close at the pic you can see the copper line.

If the river is up it primes easy, can be a bit tricky if it's down. Once in awhile we have to replace the pump packing in order to get it sealed up, that or tighten down on it.
