From L R, Ar. to Midland Tx is 12 long hours in an auto. Past Ft Wt there is a lot of sand tumbleweeds.

OTOH on I 40 across the panhandle and OTHER parts of Tx, there ARE some gorgeous scenes.

West Texas and the Big Bend area have a harsh beauty.

I'd post pix, but that was 2010 and I have had several hard drive crashes since then. Only pix I have of hundreds I took on the trip are 4 or 5 I saved to Photobucket.
