I use them quite often, among others.

Especially when working on a nasty old boar that has been rolling in the mud.

However, IMHO, they are too sharp for caping.

I've got to the point where I only carry a fixed blade as a backup....I take care of everything from quartering to skinning with a piranta. Quail to moose, it works for me.

Maybe not classy, but they're functional.
